The Prince described the pride he felt in being part of the KSI group. “When stepping into a KSI school I always feel a strong sense of community amongst staff, students and parents. KSI challenges students to fulfil their learning potential, and encourages them to become global citizens and lifelong learners”
Olhao Mayor, António Miguel Pina opened the night and expressed his support and enthusiasm for the opening of KSI Algarve. Other guests included Richard Tangye, KSI Chairman, Dimitri Goulandris, KSI Founder as well as other high profile guests from the region.
KSI Algarve opens in September and will be the first school in the Algarve to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The internationally recognised syllabus appeals to both Portuguese and International students, with English as the primary language of instruction and Portuguese language studied by all students. The IB PYP creates a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant for students from 3 to 12 years. The transdisciplinary curriculum prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners with strong respect for themselves and the world around them.
